Local-first by design

Your work stays
on your machine.

Rabta captures and restores the state of a coding task without a cloud, an account, or telemetry. The desktop app and its connector extensions run locally.

01

What the Chrome extension accesses

Rabta requests only the permissions required to capture and restore a task's browser context.

tabs
Reads open tab URLs and titles when you save a capsule, then reopens those URLs when you restore it.
storage
Keeps the local pairing token and minimal connection state needed to talk to the Rabta desktop app.
alarms
Schedules local reconnect attempts when Chrome suspends the extension's background worker.

02

Where that data goes

Only to the Rabta desktop app running on the same computer, over an authenticated local connection at 127.0.0.1. You explicitly approve that connection in Rabta the first time the extension pairs.

Tab data and the pairing token are never sent to Rabta, a third party, or any remote server.

03

What Rabta never does

  • No remote servers or cloud sync.
  • No accounts or sign-in.
  • No analytics, tracking, telemetry, or advertising.
  • No selling, sharing, or transferring your data.
  • No background capture while Rabta is disconnected.

04

Your data and control

Capsules are stored locally by the Rabta desktop app, under your control. Nothing is captured until you save a capsule. Deleting a capsule removes its stored workspace snapshot.

You can reveal Rabta's data folder at any time from Settings → Privacy & data → Reveal in Finder. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension data.
